VirtualBox上のUbuntuで解像度を大きくする

自分の環境ではVirtualBox上のゲストOSとして導入したUbuntuが、Ubuntu上の設定メニューだけではどうしても1027*768より大きな画面に設定できなかった。そこで、手動で「/etc/X11/xorg.cof」を編集する。元々は以下のようになっている。

Section "Screen"
    Identifier    "Default Screen"
    Device        "Generic Video Card"
    Monitor        "Generic Monitor"
    DefaultDepth    24
EndSectionn

これを、次のようにSubsection "Display" を追加し、再起動。

        Depth       24
        Modes       "1280x1024" "1024x768"
